Sohê-fênê Fêqê (/ˈsohɘ/ /ˈfɘnɘ/ [famous] [host]) is a temperate Small Town located in the Vapíatacê Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Sohê-fênê Fêqê is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Sohê-fênê Fêqê was founded by Brëîd Zënmëga, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Sohê-fênê Fêqê has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 23°C (73°F). Sohê-fênê Fêqê receives an average of 237 cm/y (93 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Sohê-fênê Fêqê covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 3618 m (11870 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Sohê-fênê Fêqê was founded durring the late 14th century in spring of the year 1277, by Brëîd Zënmëga. The establishment of Sohê-fênê Fêqê was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Brëîd Zënmëga electing to pay people to resettle in Sohê-fênê Fêqê.

Sohê-fênê Fêqê was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Sohê-fênê Fêqê is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Sohê-fênê Fêqê is buildings are arranged within a network of narrow cobblestone streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a town of Sohê-fênê Fêqê's size could have. Astonishigly, the well-designed, yet cheep are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Sohê-fênê Fêqê, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same divine, all performing the same rituals to bless and anoint buildings, streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holy symbol is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This certainly loves its divine. Asside form the revrent worship, you can see the citizens are preparing for something, and that something isn’t good. Weapons are worn openly. Defensive structures have been recently constructed to guard less used areas of the town. Merchants seem very eager to sell their wares at discount prices. Something is coming.

Civic Infrastructure

Sohê-fênê Fêqê has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Sohê-fênê Fêqê.

Sohê-fênê Fêqê has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Sohê-fênê Fêqê has a Department of Firefighters, which is responsible for organizing fire fighting efforts during a fire and enforcing local ordinances relating to fire safety.

Sohê-fênê Fêqê has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Sohê-fênê Fêqê's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Sohê-fênê Fêqê possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Sohê-fênê Fêqê has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Sohê-fênê Fêqê has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Sohê-fênê Fêqê has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Sohê-fênê Fêqê is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

Sohê-fênê Fêqê's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is inspired by the natural world, characterized by sinuous, sculptural, organic shapes, arches, curving lines, and sensual ornamentation. Common motifs included stylized versions of leaves, flowers, vines, insects, animals, and other natural elements. Decorative elements found on the inside and outside of buildings include intricate mosaic work, curved windows, and decorative trim work. .

Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is short in Sohê-fênê Fêqê.

The Fen Witch near Sohê-fênê Fêqê are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Sohê-fênê Fêqê's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves reenactments to channel Augury energies of tier 1 via guttural bellowing.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century an unusualy harsh winter spawned a deadly blizard to Sohê-fênê Fêqê. The ice, snow, and wind killed 174 people, 392 livestock, and destroyed 97. The event is remembered as Grieving's Breath.
